Symptoms of Prostate Cancer

Symptoms of prostate cancer depend on “staging” or stage that the disease is progressing at. During early stages of prostate cancer, there may be no detectable symptoms.

Hence, it is difficult to identify it unless specific tests are done. However, there are instances when symptoms of prostate cancer are observed similar to benign prostatic hypertrophy.

Examples include frequent urination, increased urination at night, difficulty in urinating or steadily urinating and blood in urine. Discomfort levels or pain may also be felt during urination.

Further, as the cancer affects the prostate, it may result in sexual impairment and may cause painful ejaculation or inability to ejaculate and pain during erection or erectile dysfunction.

If cancer has metastasized, then additional symptoms like bone pains may be experienced.
